What is recycled polypropylene?
Among these materials, recycled polypropylene has become a key part of our production process. But what exactly is it? It is a plastic material that, after having completed its useful life (in the form of packaging, products or even industrial waste), is recovered, cleaned, transformed and reborn. The process encompasses two main types of recycling: on the one hand, post-industrial recycled plastic, which reuses the surplus from the industrial process itself, making use of offcuts and manufacturing leftovers, defective or out-of-specification parts. On the other hand, post-consumer recycled plastic, which rescues materials that have already been used by consumers and were destined to become waste. In both cases, the result is furniture that maintains the same strength, quality and durability as always, but with an infinitely smaller ecological footprint.
Toledo Aire: design with a positive impact
Our Toledo Aire collection is a declaration of intent and a natural evolution of our way of understanding design. In it, some of our most iconic models are reinterpreted using only 100% recycled polypropylene. A gesture with which we say goodbye to new plastic, without renouncing innovation.
From a more technical perspective, plastics recycling has become a strategic pillar for the transition to a circular economy in Europe. Boosting the use of recycled materials is now a priority at both regulatory and industrial level. In this context, RESOL has made a clear commitment: by 2027, all our injection moulding products will incorporate a minimum of 30% recycled material, always adapted to the technical requirements of each typology.
Each piece manufactured with recycled polypropylene at Resol tells a story of transformation, awareness and respect for the environment.
